Virtual Fundraiser Raises Over $100,000 Benefiting First Workings

On Wednesday, June 9, First Workings had the honor of hosting UK’s Vaccination Minister, Nadhim Zahawi MP for a virtual conversation regarding his incredibly successful vaccine rollout in the UK. Guests had the opportunity to learn about the UK’s unique vaccination rollout, challenges associated with vaccination hesitancy, and ask personalized questions at the very end. The event also featured First Workings Alumni speakers, Steffy Gonzalez FW ’19 and Jeffery Oyegue FW ’20 as well as their internship and mentorship providers, Dr. David Langer of Lenox Hill Hospital and Jeff Lipsitz of Cortec Group.

First Workings is overwhelmingly grateful to our friends and supporters for helping us raise over $100,000! We were also fortunate to recieve corporate sponsorship from Cortec Group, Lazard, PJT Partners, Goldman Sachs and Carve Systems.

Thank you to all of our donors for supporting our mission of helping high achieving high school students from some of New York City’s most underserved communities gain social capital and workplace readiness skills to broaden their horizons.
