High school seniors! You are in the middle of the college application process, many of you are beginning to put your applications together and admissions essay. With that said, remember that attending college is a big expense! Financial Aid will help, and you might look into student loans, but it is always good to see what scholarships opportunities are out there.
In 2020, The Education Data Initiative found that 43% of college attendees incur some type of education debt, while 65% of college students graduate with student debt. One way to avoid student debt is through scholarships, regardless if they are full-ride or not. Covering some or all of your college academic expenses through scholarships will reduce the financial burden you experience, will allow you to solely focus on your education, and allow you to stand out because earning a scholarship is an honor that showcases your determination and work ethic.
As First Working’s alumni, we want you to feel supported not only in your professional development but also in your college readiness and access. Here are some scholarship opportunities that we highly advise you to look into!
