#FirstWorkingsJourney 2020
To our corporate community:
First Workings is taking Governor Cuomo’s recommendations very seriously. Our team is working remotely, while our students and alumni attend school virtually. We are adapting our summer program to meet the needs of our exceptional students, all of whom are all college bound.
Most crucially, we recognize the difficulty many of our internship partners will have in hosting our students this summer, even if they are able to re-open in early May. We have therefore created virtual professional skills workshops for our students to participate in this summer, instead of trying to place them in internships with companies who are working to overcome the impacts on their businesses that this pandemic has exacted.
We value all of our supporters and corporate partners during this difficult time. While we are no longer moving forward with the internship program, we are very excited to offer virtual mentoring opportunities this summer. Our mission at First Workings remains the same as we explore new ways to help students acquire social capital and broaden their horizons.

We are excited to reinvent our partnerships this summer, and continue to connect the next generation of talent with some of New York City’s industry leaders. Email Linda at [email protected] if you are interested in participating in virtual mentorship sessions.
First Workings recognizes many of our students rely on the paid summer internship for financial reasons. As a result, we are providing a stipend of $500 to all program participants. If you are unable to participate in a virtual mentorship this summer, but still want to support, you may sponsor a First Workings student by donating below!
